The International Thermal Conductivity Conference and the International Thermal Expansion Symposium are held in parallel every two years.
The Orton Ceramic Foundation is an organization dedicated to advancing the materials community through research, education, and collaboration. As a Foundation, we offer a wide range of programs and services aimed at fostering growth and development within the materials community.
Orton operates three divisions: Instruments, Testing, and Temperature Monitoring Products. The Instruments division specializes in the development and manufacture of thermo-analytical instruments such as dilatometers, thermal conductivity meters, glass testing instruments, high-temperature viscometers, and gradient furnaces. Orton’s Testing division provides a comprehensive range of laboratory services for measuring thermal, physical, and mechanical properties of materials, offers more than 100 ASTM/ISO tests, and is often used as an independent testing lab. The Temperature Monitoring division offers products like pyrometric cones, TempCHEKs, and TempTABs for heat work evaluation, enabling furnace temperature mapping and heat treatment assessment.
Orton’s mission is to support industry and research by providing reliable tools for precise thermal characterization.
Netzsch Instruments North America, as part of the globally operated Analyzing & Testing business unit of the NETZSCH Group develops and manufactures a complete high-precision instrument line for thermal analysis, rheology and fire testing, as well as offering world class commercial testing services in our laboratories.
Our instrumentation is employed for research and quality control in the polymer sector, the chemical industry, the areas of inorganic and building materials, and environmental analysis. Instruments for controlling – such as for in-situ cure monitoring – complete our product line.

At Laser Thermal we know that if you want to exceed your competitors with the highest-performing products, you need to quickly and efficiently understand the thermal properties of your materials.
But when your data is based on old, unreliable numbers or complicated workarounds, it’s hard to be confident in your results. That’s why we’re dedicated to providing accessible thermal property measurements of materials, interfaces, thin films, and substrates.
By utilizing emerging optical technologies, we’ll help you get simple, accurate, and rapid measurements of thermal properties, helping you get better data so you can make informed decisions and create reliable, top-performing products.
C-Therm Technologies is the world leader in thermal conductivity instrumentation for the test and measurement of polymers, ceramics, composites, insulation, textiles, and a wide range of other materials. Based in Canada, C-Therm’s sensor technology has been pioneering the way for many of the world’s most prominent manufacturers, researchers, and academic institutions to test and measure the thermal properties of materials for two decades.
We provide non-destructive solutions for R&D, production, and quality control applications through our Trident instrument. At C-Therm, we believe it’s better to have options. That’s why Trident boasts four methods of transient, contact-based thermal conductivity measurement: the Modified Transient Plane Source (MTPS), the Transient Plane Source (TPS), the Transient Line Source (TLS), and the Transient Hot Wire (THW). This flexibility allows for testing of solids, liquids, powders, and pastes with high precision, high accuracy, and rapid test times.
For over 60 years Linseis has been a leader in high-tech measuring devices for thermal analysis, thermoelectrics and thermal conductivity. We are committed to providing our customers with innovative technologies, customized solutions and services to strengthen their own competitiveness.
We offer a complete line of instruments for research and quality control including Differential Scanning Calorimeters – (DSC), Thermobalances, Simultaneous Thermal Analyzers – (TG-DSC), Thermomechanical Analyzers – (TMA), Dilatometers, Thermal Conductivity Meters (THB, HFM), Laser Flash Analyzers (LFA), thin film analyzers (TFA, TF-LFA), Seebeck Analyzers (LSR) and Thermal Interface Material Testers (TIM).
The company was founded in 2015 by the principals who operated Anter Corporation, a major manufacturer of thermophysical instruments for over 40 years, and pioneered the commercial production of laser flash devices.
Since its inception, the company has developed a series of thermophysical properties measuring instruments: horizontal double specimen dilatometer, Seebeck coefficient / electrical resistivity instrument, guarded heat flow meter thermal conductivity instrument, and most recently the LEDflash thermal diffusivity measuring instrument line, covering the ambient to 1000 ºC temperature range. A hallmark of the products developed by the company has been multiple specimen testing for faster and more energy conserving operation.
Exhibited at this conference is an operating LEDflash 25 ambient thermal diffusivity measuring instrument with a 30 specimen auto-loader, aimed primarily to production control and quality management use. The patented LED pulse source allows much lower pricing than competitive xenon pulse devices, resulting in substantial cost savings for users.
The business model of the company includes distributing all its products through well established, unrelated sales channels, rather than by its own sales network, while retaining in house manufacturing. For this reason, the company does not maintain a website. Inquiries on products, quotes and distributions may be addressed to [email protected].
